Company History
The Golden Rule Bindery first opened its door back in 1957 and it was originally owned and operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Chruch. The bindery was nestled in the hills of San Pasqual Valley, about 3 miles east of the Wild Animal Park. Our building was on the campus of the San Pasqual Academy which was also ran by the SDA Church. In the late 1990's the Church sold the school and surrounding property to the County of San Diego.

Not wanting the bindery to close its door, the Plant Manager, Jerry Kiley joined with partner Fred Antor and together they purchased the bindery. A new era began in June of 2000 with the new name Golden Rule Bindery Incorporated.
In late 2008, we were given notice that we would have to relocate our business and the search began. Finally, after several months of hunting and analyzing we found our new home in San Marcos. In the spring of 2009 we packed up our shop (which was quite an undertaking) and began operations in our new plant.

Now only a few blocks from the 78 freeway, our clients have much easier access to our facility. After being in the same building for over 50 years, moving to a new location has been a challenging and rewarding experience. We hope that with our easier-to-find location, more people will come visit us and tour our plant.
High quality binding is one of the our top priorities; we are constantly testing new products, methods and materials as they become available. We have been working on creating new options for book covers and the outcome is quite promising. Expanding our capabilities and offering new services will hopefully be in our future as we strive to stay competitive in the book binding market.
